Matthew Patterson, an associate professor of glass art at the University, will present “A Glass Act: Teaching and Making Art on the Gulf Coast'' on Friday, March 15 at 3 p.m. The USA Glass Art Program will also display an exhibition of student and faculty work.  

Patterson joined the USA Department of Art and Art History in 2011. He has been creating work for more than 15 years that emphasizes beauty and a reverence for the natural world. His studio practice encompasses many techniques, from classical glass blown vessels to explorations in figurative sculpture employing a wide range of applications in glass, wood, metal and other mixed media.
