    Position Summary:

    The Membership Director will be responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships with current and prospective investors, partners, members, and sponsors of the Chamber. This role demands strong execution skills, attention to detail, and the interpersonal abilities necessary to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication and facilitation skills are essential to support and engage with a diverse array of individuals and groups.

     

    Reports to: President/CEO, South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Attend Chamber and community networking events to advocate for the South Baldwin Chamber’s mission and connect relevant programs, benefits, and events with business leaders.
    • Prospect and recruit new Chamber members through various sales techniques and resources.
    • Monitor investor accounts and manage communication with any past-due accounts through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings, emphasizing the benefits of their investment and securing renewals.
    • Collaborate with the Chamber's Business of the Month to coordinate and maximize benefits.
    • Schedule and manage Chamber ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking events for members, ensuring a positive and professional experience.

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum of five years of progressive work experience within collaborative, non-profit, educational, or civic organizations.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with colleagues, business leaders, and external partners.
    • Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
    • Ability to function as a contributing team member.
    • Experience working with diverse groups of partners and volunteers.
    • Commitment to communicating the Chamber’s mission across the community, engaging professionals of all industries, ages, and backgrounds.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other relevant software.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    • This role requires flexibility, with work performed in various settings, including offices, conference rooms, public spaces, and business environments. The position also involves time outside the office in a traditional sales or relationship-building environment.
    • Occasional local and regional travel for meetings.
    • Availability for evening and weekend work as needed.
