Baldwin County 9-1-1 and Geo-Comm, Inc. Near Completion of Year-Long Project to Enhance Address Information for Next Generation 9-1-1

Robertsdale, AL [08/16/2024]— Baldwin County 9-1-1 is pleased to announce that its year-long collaboration with Geo-Comm, Inc. (Geo-Comm), headquartered in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, is nearing completion. This partnership has been instrumental in validating and improving address information throughout the county, directly supporting the objectives of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) readiness at both local and state levels.

Since November 2023, field verification efforts have been ongoing to enhance the accuracy of countywide addressing data, with a steadfast commitment to bolstering public safety. As we enter the final phase of this initiative, a Geo-Comm Field Technician will be on-site throughout Baldwin County from August 20-30, 2024. Their work will involve thorough verification of addresses across various locations within the county.

The Geo-Comm Field Technician's vehicle will be clearly marked with the Geo-Comm logo, and the technician will be wearing official Geo-Comm attire. The focus of their activities will be on confirming the location of structures and house numbers, without direct engagement with residents or approaching structures. If a Geo-Comm Technician’s vehicle is seen on your property, it is likely for the purpose of verifying your house number. We kindly ask residents to ensure that their house numbers are visibly displayed to assist in this process.
