The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce gathered with local community members to celebrate the grand opening for Counter Culture, a new cafe & yogurt shop in midtown Foley!
Located inside of Tanger Outlets, Counter Culture is a Louisiana-based eatery known for its frozen yogurt, along with a variety of delicious sandwiches, soups, shakes, and salads. Its signature dish, the "Humphrey Yogart" is a house specialty comprised of organic, locally-cultured yogurt topped with granola, honey, and three fresh fruits. Counter Culture offers a range of customizable yogurt combinations, allowing customers to choose from different sizes, flavors, fruits, nuts, and sweet toppings. The cozy cafe also offers daily specials on sandwiches, drinks, and desserts.
Counter Culture was created in 1977 in Shreveport, Louisiana when two college students wanted to create healthy food in an industry that lacked those options. The brand quickly became recognizable throughout Louisiana, becoming a local favorite for flavorful, fresh food and desserts.
"We are thrilled to open our doors at Tanger and in the Foley community," says Counter Culture co-owner Tracy Curtiss. "Our goal is to create a space where both locals and tourists can enjoy high-quality, delicious, and healthy food and dessert in a fun, casual environment."
The Foley café marks the 12th Counter Culture location and the company's first in Alabama.
